Initial research on planning and design of today's Buddhist temple

摘要： Starting from the reconstruction planning for the Chongyuan Temple in Suzhou Industrial Park, the planners explored the elements of contemporary Buddhism architecture planning and design in terms of the social multi-requirement, environmental utilization fitted for a given time and place, appropriate temple pattern on specification and institution, functional division for harmonic relationship between monks and laymen, etc. For realization of historic mission: carrying forward the cultural tradition and constructing harmonic society, this paper proposes some principles of creation, which have historical evidence and are keeping pace with the times.

“Composition” and regularisation of architectural production in contemporary China

摘要： The purpose of this paper is to explore how the “Beaux-Arts” “composition” sustained the constitution of design principles for architectural production in China in the last two decades of the twentieth century. “Composition”, a key technique of the “Beaux-Arts” system, is not a simple act of “putting elements together” into a unified whole, but also relates to an array of different “constructions” of architectural knowledge which regulate and sustain the act of design. Through analysing the structure of three “textbooks” published in the early 1980s, this paper examines three aspects of the “constructions”: the setting up of the principles for governing architectural forms, regularisation of design methods and approaches for architectural practice, and the construction of a “tradition” for the expression of “Chineseness”.

摘要：

当代工程观反映了当代工程科学和工程技术与社会、经济、文化、生态交叉融合、协调构建的新趋势，对于开展工程教育和培养中国现代化建设的工程人才有重要意义。文章分析了在当代学科交叉渗透的趋势下当代工程观的基本内容；探讨了传统工程教育中的存在过分强调科学理性和技术理性的问题；提出了以综合理性为主导，融合当代工程观的当代工程教育理念。

摘要：

文章介绍了钱学森提出的现代科学技术体系和综合集成方法论。现代科学技术体系是横向上由11个科学技术部门、纵向上由三个层次，即基础理论、技术科学和应用技术所构成的矩阵式结构；综合集成方法论是由“从定性到定量综合集成方法”和“从定性到定量综合集成研讨厅体系”所构成。文章还讨论了它们在实践中的应用。

从气动光学学科发展历程出发，介绍了气动光学提出的背景，提出了气动光学的定义及内涵、研究对象和研究方法，描述了气动光学研究的主要内容：气动光学效应机理研究、气动光学效应校正方法研究、气动光学效应校正验证试验研究和高速飞行器光学窗口技术研究；详细阐述了国内开展气动光学学科理论基础、工程建模、试验原理及试验方法等研究途径，给出了一些典型的研究结果，指出了学科的应用前景和发展趋势。

Contemporary coronary artery bypass grafting

摘要：

Current evidence clearly demonstrates that coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) remains the “gold standard” treatment for most patients with multivessel and left main stem disease. This article summarizes the relevant evidence basis demonstrating that CABG, in comparison to stenting, reduces mortality and subsequent myocardial infarction and the need for repeat revascularization. The article also describes the evidence basis to support the use of more arterial grafts during CABG and the current role of off-pump CABG.
